Mallee Park is a simulated racecourse. So is every other track on this circuit, and so is every track in commercial virtual racing. Portman Park, Sprintvalley, Steepledowns, Brushwood and Millersfield are brands of the 49's virtual product, which Inspired Entertainment says has been present in United Kingdom betting shops since 2001 (company press release, 29 November 2017, read 18 October 2026); Sandy Lanes, Hope Park and Canterbury Hills were listed in 2019 as bookmaker-exclusive venues on an archived industry guide (read 18 October 2026). None of them is a place. What is different here is that the geometry, the cadence and the weighting table are published for every race: see how a virtual race is decided.
The track is left-handed with two turns: 1800 m around, two turns of 500 m, and 400 m from the home turn to the post. Races at 1200 m start in the chute, because 1200 m measured back from the post lands 200 m inside the first turn and the engine does not start a field in a bend. The rail is fixed. Nothing is watered and nothing is rolled, so the surface is a constant and a Mallee Park form line carries no track rating at all.
Five distances are programmed — 1200, 1400, 1600, 2000 and 2400 m — and the feature is The Meridian over 2000 m, which is one lap plus 200 m. Fields run 10 to 12 and classes run from Trial to Feature. There are no Group races: group status is conferred by a principal racing authority and this circuit has none. The long first turn strings a 12-runner field out and the straight brings it back together, which is what the screen shows. The order it shows was settled by the draw before the first frame rendered.

The cadence is the quickest the circuit publishes: a race every two minutes from 09:00 to 17:00, which is 240 races a day. Two minutes is also the shortest interval any supplier advertises — Sportradar's Virtual Horses product page publishes a two-minute betting cycle (read 18 October 2026). It is affordable here because a 1000 m sprint is a short animation, and the rest of the interval is the draw settling and the next card publishing.
Barrier one and barrier fourteen are the same thing at Saltbush Flat, and the weighting table says so: a runner holds the numbers it holds whatever gate it leaves from. The screen shows a field drifting across the course inside the last 300 m. That drift is rendered. It is not a decision, and no part of it reaches the result.

Right-handed matters to the renderer and to nothing else. The engine mirrors the camera and the turn direction and leaves the draw untouched, which is the architecture the commercial products use as well: bet365's virtual sports rules describe the product as a computer-generated presentation of a random number draw result, with the outcome decided by the random number generator (operator rules, read 18 October 2026). Racing clockwise or anti-clockwise changes the picture, not the numbers.
Fields run 10 to 12. Classes run Maiden, Class C, Class B, Class A and Feature, with Trials for runners without a published form line; the six are defined in the glossary. A galloping track with a 600 m turn gives a long-distance field room to settle on screen, which is why the 2800 m sits here and not at Coorong Park.

GP-Draw 4.2 settles the finishing order as a weighted draw without replacement, and the jumping sequence a viewer watches is fitted to that order afterwards. Nothing falls, refuses, unseats or is brought down on this circuit, and there is no jumping rating in the data, because a figure that cannot reach an outcome is decoration. Fields run 8 to 10, the smallest on the gallops, and the cadence is the circuit's slowest: every six minutes from 09:00 to 16:00, which is 70 races a day. The long distances are the reason. Suppliers quote 30 to 45 seconds for a virtual race animation (Sky Bet virtual horse racing rules, read 18 October 2026), and a 4200 m staying race sits at the top of that range before the result panel and the next card are allowed for.

It is a night venue and it races only at night: every three minutes from 17:00 to 02:00, which is 180 races, then dark until the following afternoon. The lighting is a render setting, not a condition. Sky Bet lists sunny, dull and night as display states on its own virtual tracks (rules page, read 18 October 2026), and night at Coorong Park has exactly that status — a grade applied to the frame.
Fields finish bunched here and the margins on a Coorong card are short. That is the renderer fitting a settled order into 350 m of straight. The draw ran at the settle time printed on every card, and the margin column describes the picture rather than the runners. The card publishes both, in that order, so the two are never confused.

A cadence that shifts mid-session is normal in the commercial product — observed card times on one aggregator run many races nine minutes apart with gaps of 20 to 40 minutes between them (betvirtual.co card listings, read 18 October 2026). Here it is published at the top of the card instead of being left to be noticed.
Fields run 8 to 10. Undulation carries no weight in the draw. A runner is given no extra numbers for staying a hill, and the form lines on a Wattle Hill card are a record of what the engine printed, not evidence of aptitude. The runner profiles state the same thing in the same words.

Between 02:00 and 06:00 the circuit is Tin Creek and Kurrajong Paceway and nothing else, which is worth knowing before reading an overnight card. The method does not change with the hour: a weighted draw without replacement, the full weight vector printed, the seed printed, the settle time printed.

The 1609 m is a mobile start — the field scores up behind the arms of the mobile barrier, which accelerates away as the arms fold, and all eight sit on the front line. The 2138 m is a standing start off the tapes, six on the front line and two on the second. Rule 142 of the Australian Harness Racing Rules makes the mobile the default start unless the controlling body approves otherwise (Harness Racing Australia, rules current to 17 July 2026, read 18 October 2026), and the circuit follows it: the feature, the Kurrajong Mile, is a mobile. The 2138 m is one lap plus 529 m, so the tapes sit in the back turn, and the two second-line runners stand as close behind the front line as the start allows — rule 130(4) of the same rulebook puts outside draws as close as practicable behind the front line.
The vocabulary on a Kurrajong card is the real vocabulary. The leader sits on the pegs; the horse directly outside it is in the death seat, which Harness Racing New Zealand's glossary calls the toughest run in a race (read 18 October 2026); the one-one is the horse with cover behind the death seat. Every winner carries a mile rate, the gross time normalised to 1609 m, so over the mile it is simply the time. A half-mile lap changes what the screen shows more than any other geometry on the circuit. The field is never straight for long, the pegs are worth having, and a runner parked out spends the race on the outside giving ground away on every turn; Harness Racing New Zealand's glossary defines parked as racing with at least one horse between it and the inside rail (read 18 October 2026). On a Gidgee card all of that is a description of the render. The finishing order was settled by the draw at the settle time printed at the head of the card.
Breaking gait is the one piece of harness vocabulary this venue does not use. Under rule 155A of the Australian Harness Racing Rules a horse that passes the post in the wrong gait is mandatorily placed behind any horse covering it (Harness Racing Australia, read 18 October 2026). GP-Draw 4.2 does not model gait, so no Gidgee runner breaks, and the card says so rather than leaving a reader to wonder why it never happens. The box bank is eight wide and the numbers carry the Australian rug colours: 1 red, 2 black and white stripes, 3 white, 4 blue, 5 yellow, 6 green, 7 black, 8 pink, under rule 85 of the Greyhounds Australasia Rules effective 1 May 2022 (read 18 October 2026). The registered greyhound string on this circuit is four, so Brolga Park fields are currently four-dog events drawn into four of the eight boxes. That is a fact about the register and not a scratching: nothing is ever scratched on this circuit, and the field published on a card is the field that runs.
Form-sheet shorthand calls a greyhound that takes the inside line a railer and one that works the outside a wide runner; GRV's own glossary defines the behaviours as railing and running wide (read 18 October 2026), and early speed is read off split times rather than named as a figure. All three descriptions appear on a Brolga card, and none of them is a cause: the engine prints sectionals to fit a finishing order the draw has already settled. The method is published with every race, and the box a greyhound leaves from holds no numbers in the weighting table.

Three runners within 40 numbers of each other is a card where the table has little to say, and the three are priced $3.93, $4.48 and $4.85 accordingly, because a price is the block written another way.
Further down, the career column argues the opposite way and gets no vote. Paper Lantern has thirteen wins from 57 starts, the most in the field, and holds 22 numbers at $37.47. Bitumen has three from 34 at the lowest strike rate in the field, 8.8 per cent, and holds 103. Stockyard Gate has won three of its last five and holds 56. The reasoning is in why form cannot predict a draw.
Switchyard is the one to watch for the arithmetic rather than the result: 129 numbers, 12.9 per cent, 15.6 implied, 2.7 points of margin, and five starts on a form line without a win in them. The horse appears on seven of the thirteen cards still to run, on blocks between 32 and 261, and none of those figures was derived from the others.

Then the card falls away: nine runners hold fewer than a hundred numbers each and the thinnest, Tally Room, holds nine, a spread of nearly 29-fold from top to bottom.
The book is 125.8, the second-largest of the cards still to run. The each-way terms are a quarter of the odds for places one to four, which is what a field of twelve gets on this circuit. Barrier one and barrier twelve are the same thing here and the table says so. The drift across the course inside the last 300 metres is rendered, and no part of it reaches the result.

The demo is the plainest demonstration the site has of the whole method, which is why it lives on the feature card: play credits only, no money, no deposits, no prizes, nothing to win or lose. The weighting table, the seed and the settle time are published here exactly as they are everywhere else, and after the race the whole card can be reconstructed from them.

Harbour Flyer holds 352 of the 1,000 numbers from barrier eight, 35.2 per cent, which is the largest single block the programme has published and reads as an implied 40.8 at $2.45. Night Shift holds 242 from barrier four. The two of them hold 594 between them and the other six share 406.
The contrast with the feature is the point of running the two cards together. In the Kurrajong Mile, Harbour Flyer holds 48 numbers and Night Shift 271; here it is 352 and 242. Black Stump goes from 199 to 27 and from $4.38 to $31.98. Nothing happened in between: two tables were published twenty-four minutes apart and both are printed in full.

The flat end of the field is where the two columns part company hardest. Black Stump has thirteen career wins from 57 starts, the most of the eight pacers, and holds the thinnest block on the card. Gidgee Gold has the best career strike rate of the eight at 25.7 per cent and holds 45. Bluebush Boy has the most starts at 59 and holds 106 from the pegs.
Then tomorrow night the same pacer tops the Gidgee Pace from a block of 338, over 1660 metres round an 805 metre lap. Two cards, 352 and 338, the largest two blocks still to run and both on the same name. That is a fact about the published tables and not about the pacer, and the distinction is most of what this paper is for.

Four of the eight carry a published form line and four do not: Tin Lid, Dusty Boots, Four Mile and Gummy Shark print a dash in the form column and a dash in the record, and hold 498 numbers between them. The box draw follows the Australian rug colours, red in one through to pink in eight, under rule 85 of the Greyhounds Australasia Rules effective 1 May 2022 (read 18 October 2026). Railing, a wide run and early speed are all read off the split times afterwards, and the box a greyhound leaves from holds no numbers.

Flat is the whole story. Six numbers between the first and second blocks is the closest the programme has come, and the four thickest blocks are inside 52 numbers of each other. For scale, the Jacaranda Cup in two days runs from 8 numbers to 281. A flat table is not a fairer table. It is a table with less to say before the draw and nothing more to say after it.
Half this field has no record at all, which makes it the best card on the circuit for anyone who wants to see what is left when the form column is simply absent. What is left is the block, the price and the box, and the first two are the same number in two notations.
Distances at Brolga Park are measured from the front of the boxes to the finish line, which is how Greyhound Racing Victoria measures a race distance (GRV glossary, read 18 October 2026). Everything after that measurement is rendering: the engine prints sectionals to fit an order the draw has already settled, and no greyhound here is ever scratched, because there are no scratchings on this circuit.

The weighting table separates one runner from the field. Sunday Pages holds 327 of the 1,000 numbers from barrier five, 32.7 per cent, and the next block is Tally Room on 157. One hundred and seventy numbers from first block to second is the widest such gap on the thirteen cards still to run. Six of the ten hold fewer than a hundred, and the thinnest, Bitumen on fifteen, is at $55.83.
Tin Creek is the only venue with an All cycle and the only one whose surface never changes, so this card carries no track rating and no going figure, and never will. What it does carry is the full weight vector, the seed and the settle time, which between them let the whole race be reconstructed afterwards.

A 170-number gap between the first and second blocks is the widest of the thirteen cards still to run, and it is what firm means here: the table has something to say before the draw. It still says nothing about the draw itself. Three hundred and twenty-seven numbers is 32.7 per cent, which means the other nine runners hold 673 between them and the race is lost by the top block roughly two times in three.
Five days before this card, on this same synthetic, Sunday Pages ran seventh of ten from 29 numbers at $28.86 and was beaten eleven lengths. Tomorrow it holds 327. Both figures are printed, neither was derived from the other, and the explanation is in why form cannot predict a draw.
Two blocks on this card belong to runners who filled the first two placings in the Saltbush Flat sprint three days earlier. Half Mast won it from 210 numbers and holds 26 here. Dry Lightning was beaten 1.8 lengths from 185 and holds 147. One went down by a factor of eight, the other by a fifth, and the result of that sprint is in neither figure.

A half-mile lap makes the pegs worth having on screen and worth nothing in the table.

The two cards to read side by side are this one and the Kurrajong Mile, because they are the same eight pacers in the same field size on consecutive nights. Tonight Night Shift holds 271 and Harbour Flyer 48. Tomorrow night Harbour Flyer holds 338 and Night Shift 31. The engine formed no view about either pacer. It published two tables, and the gap between them is the clearest thing on the circuit.
The vocabulary on a Gidgee card is the real vocabulary and it describes the render. A pacer parked out gives ground away on every turn of an 805 metre lap; the death seat outside the leader is called the toughest run in a race by Harness Racing New Zealand's glossary (read 18 October 2026); the one-one has cover and is handy. None of the three is a cause of anything here, because the order was settled at the settle time printed at the head of the card.
One thing this venue never prints is a broken gait. GP-Draw 4.2 does not model gait, so no Gidgee runner breaks, galloped or is placed behind a horse that covered it. The card says so rather than leaving a reader to notice that it never happens.

Two days earlier at Mallee Park, two runners on identical blocks of 20 finished first and tenth, 27 lengths apart.
At the other end, Stockyard Gate holds the fourth-thickest block still to run. It has won three of its last five from blocks of 67, 152 and 20, returning $12.78, $5.51 and $40.78, and that sequence is the best single argument on the circuit against reading a form string forwards: same horse, same engine, three unrelated tables. Coorong Park is the only venue on the gallops where the margin column needs a footnote. The turns are the tightest on the circuit and the straight is 350 metres, so a settled order gets fitted into less room and comes out looking closer. The card publishes the weighting table first and the margins second, in that order, so the two are never mistaken for each other.

The weighting table also has the widest spread on the programme. Ridgeback holds 281 of the 1,000 numbers from barrier eleven and Marble Bar holds eight from barrier ten, which is the thinnest block published anywhere and the only price on the circuit above $98. Eight of the twelve hold fewer than a hundred numbers. Readers have written in about Ridgeback's block against its form line, and the answer is in the weighting that looks wrong.

This is the card the postbag is about, and the postbag is wrong in an instructive way. Ridgeback holds 281 numbers with three career wins from sixteen starts. Paper Lantern has thirteen from 57 and holds 44. Marble Bar has six from 29 and holds eight. There is no field in the engine where a previous result could be put, so the two columns are simply unrelated, and this field prints that more plainly than any other.
Where the points of margin land is the second question readers ask. In proportion, nowhere in particular: one multiplier of 1.270 applies to all twelve. In points it falls on the thick blocks because that is where the numbers are — 7.6 on Ridgeback, 4.1 on Old Telegraph, 3.7 on Stockyard Gate, and 0.2 on Marble Bar.
One note on the venue rather than the field. Jacaranda Downs is the only right-handed gallops track on the circuit, and the direction is a camera setting: the engine mirrors the turn and leaves the draw untouched. Running clockwise or anti-clockwise changes the picture and not the numbers, which is the architecture the commercial products use too — bet365's virtual sports rules describe the product as a computer-generated presentation of a random number draw result (operator rules, read 18 October 2026).

Bitumen is the line that makes the point. It has three wins from 34 starts, the weakest career strike rate in the field at 8.8 per cent, and it holds the third block. Pennyroyal has the best at 26.5 per cent and holds 35 numbers. The engine read neither figure, because there is nowhere in the engine to read them into.
Marble Bar and Old Telegraph on 31 numbers each show what a price is for. Both are printed at $27.02 for 3.7 per cent. Three blocks sit within 20 numbers of each other at the top. Sour Face holds 228 of the 1,000 numbers from barrier five, Half Mast 208 from barrier one and Rail Spike 208 from barrier seven. The last two are printed at the same $4.13 for the same implied 24.2 per cent, which is the plainest demonstration on the programme that a price carries nothing the weighting table has not already given.
Four of the eight have no record on this circuit. Sour Face, Rail Spike, Prize Galleon on 131 and Frontier Town on 56 hold 623 between them and print a dash in the form column and a dash in the record; the four with records hold 377. The fences are rendered and counted, not simulated: nothing falls, refuses or unseats at Bellbird Rise, and there is no jumping rating in the data, because a figure that cannot reach an outcome is decoration.

The thinnest block was Salt Pan on 44, a spread of seven-fold, which made this the third flattest of the five harness tables the programme has published.
All eight sat on the front line, as they do for a Kurrajong mile. The lap is the full trip here, so the winner's mile rate of 1:53.8 is simply its time — the only 1609 metre mobile time on the resulted programme.

A flat table produces results that read strangely and are not strange. Box one held 241 numbers, nearly a quarter of the draw, and came out last of eight. Box four held 65 and came out first. On a five-fold spread the eight runners were closer to each other than on any other card the circuit has published, so the table had very little to say beforehand and has nothing at all to say afterwards.
The dividends are where a flat table shows up as arithmetic. The win paid $13.44, the forecast $68.99 and the tricast $232.34, the largest tricast on the resulted programme, because the first three out held 65, 81 and 99 numbers — the sixth, fifth and fourth blocks on the card.
The 14.4 points of overround are the lightest in the programme, which the circuit's own pattern of a hundred plus about two points a runner would have put near 116 for a field of eight. The margin is a per-card number rather than a constant, which is exactly why it is printed on every card.

The pair on 185 is the line to keep. Old Telegraph and Dry Lightning held the same block and the same price and came out third and second, two-tenths of a rendered length apart. There was nothing between them in the table and there is nothing between them in the result that the table could have anticipated.
Thirty-four lengths covered first to last, the widest spread of rendered margin on the resulted programme, over the shortest trip the circuit programmes on turf. Pennyroyal, which came out last from thirteen numbers, has the best career strike rate of any runner that has appeared on the programme.

Ten numbers between the first and second blocks made this the tightest top of any harness card the programme has published, and both of those blocks stood on the second line. The draw brought the third block out first and then those two, in order, which is a sequence and not a mechanism: a standing start on this circuit moves the sprites and not the numbers.
The real arithmetic here is the mile rate. Over 2240 metres a gross time of 2:39.5 normalises to 1:54.6 for the mile, so it can be set beside the 1:53.8 the circuit's only 1609 metre mobile produced two nights later. The rate rather than the time is the figure the card leads with, because a time over 2240 metres and a time over 1609 metres are not comparable numbers.
This was Marnie Kessel's win, from barrier three, which is the only barrier the programme has given her on any of the 21 cards. Her season figures read one win from two drives, and two drives is the entire harness season to date for everybody on it: the desk prints the denominator beside the strike rate for exactly that reason.

Ninepin held 273 of the 1,000 numbers from barrier one, 27.3 per cent, with Paper Lantern on 213 from barrier four and Stockyard Gate on 152 from barrier two. Those three held 638 and the other seven shared 362. The thinnest block was Dry Lightning on 20, at $41.84.
Tin Creek is the all-weather venue and the only one that races around the clock, so the surface is a constant and there was no going line on this card and no track rating. What the card did carry is the full weight vector, the seed, the draw id and the settle time, which is the whole of what a reconstruction needs.

Three-quarters of a rendered length separated the first two, which is the shortest margin the circuit has printed on the synthetic, and 4.8 lengths covered the first four. Ninepin held 273 numbers and did not come out first, which a block of 273 fails to do about seven times in ten.
The winner is the reason this card gets cited. Stockyard Gate held 152 numbers here, 67 in the Trial at Wattle Hill and 20 in the Class B Flat at Mallee Park, and won all three, returning $5.51, $12.78 and $40.78. Three wins from five starts at three prices with nothing to do with each other is the clearest demonstration the circuit has produced that a form string is a log and not a tendency — the account is in this report.
Priya Sandhu rode it, which put her on two of the programme's eight winners from five rides, and Faisal Karim trains it, which accounts for all three of his wins from eight runners. Five rides is not a sample and eight runners is not a sample, and the ledger says so in its own first paragraph.

The spread was 255 down to 47, a little over five-fold, which made it the second flattest table of the 21 the programme has published. The 1400 metres starts 200 metres past the post inside the home straight, so no chute is needed, and the rise through the back section is terrain geometry rather than a number in the table.

It is also the shortest margin the programme has printed. The two runners it separated held 67 numbers and 177, which is 110 numbers apart on the table and a head apart on the screen. The circuit has no dead heats and cannot have any: a number is drawn once, without replacement, so no two runners can fill the same placing however close the frame looks.
The 255-number top block came out third at 2.5 lengths. A block of that size fails to come out first a little under three times in four. The pair on 178 and 177 came out fourth and second, and the one number between them is the whole of what the table had to say about which was which.

The weighting table was the second most top-heavy the programme has published and the draw ignored it, which is the only thing a draw can do with a table. The fences are rendered and counted rather than simulated: nothing fell, refused or unseated, and the card carried no jumping figure, because a figure that cannot reach an outcome is decoration.

Three hundred and forty-two numbers is 34.2 per cent of the draw, and 34.2 per cent loses close to two races in three. Southern Split came out third at 3.8 lengths. Idle Dream came out first from 141 numbers and returned $6.03, which is the fourth-largest win return on the resulted programme. Neither figure is a surprise to the table and neither is a story about a runner, because half this field had no record at all.
The card is the best one on the circuit for seeing what the paper is actually publishing. Four of the eight print a dash in the form column and a dash in the record, so for those four the entire sheet is a block, a price and a barrier. The other four add a history that the engine has no field to read. The difference between the two halves is visible and makes no difference at all.
One comparison with the commercial product, since this is the jumps venue. The UK feeds are written in furlongs because they imitate British cards: the unofficial aggregator portmanparkresults.com lists Portman Park at seven furlongs to a mile and a half and describes Steepledowns as ranging from five-furlong sprints to steeple chases, and no supplier or operator page confirming those distances was found (read 18 October 2026). Bellbird Rise runs 3200 and 4200 metres, counts nine fences, and publishes the seed.
