Bellbird Rise is a simulated venue. So is every venue in virtual racing. What is published here is the geometry, which is the part the industry keeps to itself.

The rail: True, fixed; the nine fences are set on the inside line. Nothing on this circuit is watered, rolled or rained on, so there is no track rating and a form line from here carries none. The geometry changes what the screen shows, not what the draw does: a barrier holds no numbers in the weighting table.
The cadence
what the venue runs, and when it goes dark
- Day window
- every 6 min, 09:00–16:00 — 70 races
- Overnight window
- dark, 16:00–09:00
Both windows are printed whether or not the venue races in them: a track that runs one window says the other is dark, because a reader is entitled to know when nothing is on rather than to guess. A card every few minutes is what the real product does too — the same cadence for 49's Portman Park has been reported as three minutes, as three to five minutes and as nine minutes (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026), and where the sources disagree the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.
About the track
Bellbird Rise is the circuit's jumps track and its newest venue, running since June 2025. The lap is 2000 m with a 380 m home straight, and nine fences are set on the inside line. Three distances are programmed: 3200, 3600 and 4200 m. The 4200 m is two laps plus 200 m; the 3200 m is one lap plus 1200 m. There is no chute, because a jumps start here is taken from the fence line and the field is started on the course proper wherever the distance falls. The feature is the Bellbird Steeple over 4200 m.
The fences are rendered and counted. They are not simulated. GP-Draw 4.2 settles the finishing order as a weighted draw without replacement, and the jumping sequence a viewer watches is fitted to that order afterwards. Nothing falls, refuses, unseats or is brought down on this circuit, and there is no jumping rating in the data, because a figure that cannot reach an outcome is decoration. How a virtual race is decided sets out the method in full, with the weight vector and the seed.
Fields run 8 to 10, the smallest on the gallops, and the cadence is the circuit's slowest: every six minutes from 09:00 to 16:00, which is 70 races a day. The long distances are the reason. Suppliers quote 30 to 45 seconds for a virtual race animation (Sky Bet virtual horse racing rules, read 18 October 2026), and a 4200 m staying race sits at the top of that range before the result panel and the next card are allowed for.
What the proportions were modelled on
as far as the resemblance goes
Steepledowns, the jumps venue in the 49's virtual product, is described by portmanparkresults.com as a left-handed circuit of eight fences with a water jump over 2m to 2m4f (read 18 October 2026); Bellbird Rise is the same idea with nine fences, no water and metric distances.
Nine fences, three distances and no jumping model: the fences are rendered, the result is drawn, and no runner ever falls here.
