The track

Generated track map of Tin Creek — thoroughbred circuit, left-handed, all-weather, 1500 m round, 320 m home straight.
Drawn from the figures in this table: the lap, the straight, the chute and the start positions. It is a diagram of what the engine is modelling, not a survey of a place.

Tin Creek is a simulated venue. So is every venue in virtual racing. What is published here is the geometry, which is the part the industry keeps to itself.

The rail: True, fixed. Nothing on this circuit is watered, rolled or rained on, so there is no track rating and a form line from here carries none. The geometry changes what the screen shows, not what the draw does: a barrier holds no numbers in the weighting table.

The cadence

what the venue runs, and when it goes dark

Day window
every 4 min, 06:00–23:00 — 255 races
Overnight window
every 10 min, 23:00–06:00 — 42 races

Both windows are printed whether or not the venue races in them: a track that runs one window says the other is dark, because a reader is entitled to know when nothing is on rather than to guess. A card every few minutes is what the real product does too — the same cadence for 49's Portman Park has been reported as three minutes, as three to five minutes and as nine minutes (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026), and where the sources disagree the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.

About the track

Tin Creek is 1500 m around on a synthetic surface, left-handed, with a 320 m home straight and a 1000 m chute. Five distances are programmed — 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600 and 2000 m — and the feature is the Tin Creek Classic over 1600 m. Fields run 10 to 12. All-weather is literal here rather than aspirational: the engine has no weather, so the surface is a constant and the card carries no track rating and no going figure.

It is the only venue with an All cycle, and it carries the hours the other nine do not. The day cadence is a race every four minutes from 06:00 to 23:00, which is 255 races; overnight it stretches to every ten minutes from 23:00 to 06:00, which is 42 more. Stretching the cycle overnight is what the commercial feeds do, and the sources disagree about by how much: three minutes, three to five minutes and nine minutes are all reported for the same product, and the hours are given both as 08:00 to 22:00 and as around the clock (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026). The disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.

Between 02:00 and 06:00 the circuit is Tin Creek and Kurrajong Paceway and nothing else, which is worth knowing before reading an overnight card. The method does not change with the hour: a weighted draw without replacement, the full weight vector printed, the seed printed, the settle time printed.

What the proportions were modelled on

as far as the resemblance goes

A 1500 m synthetic lap with a 320 m straight resembles a small all-weather circuit of the kind built for racing through a wet season; here the surface is a constant because there is no season to race through.

The only venue that races through the night as well as the day, and the only one whose surface never changes: 297 races in 24 hours.
