Saltbush Flat is a simulated venue. So is every venue in virtual racing. What is published here is the geometry, which is the part the industry keeps to itself.

The rail: Fixed both fences; the chute runs straight to the post. Nothing on this circuit is watered, rolled or rained on, so there is no track rating and a form line from here carries none. The geometry changes what the screen shows, not what the draw does: a barrier holds no numbers in the weighting table.
The cadence
what the venue runs, and when it goes dark
- Day window
- every 2 min, 09:00–17:00 — 240 races
- Overnight window
- dark, 17:00–09:00
Both windows are printed whether or not the venue races in them: a track that runs one window says the other is dark, because a reader is entitled to know when nothing is on rather than to guess. A card every few minutes is what the real product does too — the same cadence for 49's Portman Park has been reported as three minutes, as three to five minutes and as nine minutes (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026), and where the sources disagree the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.
About the track
Saltbush Flat has no circumference because it has no circuit. The whole venue is a 1200 m chute running straight to the post, and that chute is also the 1200 m home straight. Three distances are programmed: 1000, 1100 and 1200 m, and the feature is the Saltbush Dash over the full course. Fields run 12 to 14, the widest on the circuit, because a straight course is the one shape that can start fourteen runners in line abreast.
The cadence is the quickest the circuit publishes: a race every two minutes from 09:00 to 17:00, which is 240 races a day. Two minutes is also the shortest interval any supplier advertises — Sportradar's Virtual Horses product page publishes a two-minute betting cycle (read 18 October 2026). It is affordable here because a 1000 m sprint is a short animation, and the rest of the interval is the draw settling and the next card publishing.
Barrier one and barrier fourteen are the same thing at Saltbush Flat, and the weighting table says so: a runner holds the numbers it holds whatever gate it leaves from. The screen shows a field drifting across the course inside the last 300 m. That drift is rendered. It is not a decision, and no part of it reaches the result.
What the proportions were modelled on
as far as the resemblance goes
A pure straight course of this length is rare in the real world and ordinary in virtual racing; the nearest analogue is Sprint Valley, which portmanparkresults.com's track matrix describes as straight 5f and 6f racing (read 18 October 2026).
Nothing here turns. A Saltbush Flat card is 1,000 to 1,200 m in a straight line, and at 240 races it is the fastest cadence on the circuit.

Group status is conferred by a principal racing authority and this circuit has none, so the top grade here is Feature and the page says so rather than borrowing a grade it cannot award. How a virtual race is decided.
