Coorong Park is a simulated venue. So is every venue in virtual racing. What is published here is the geometry, which is the part the industry keeps to itself.

The rail: True, fixed. Nothing on this circuit is watered, rolled or rained on, so there is no track rating and a form line from here carries none. The geometry changes what the screen shows, not what the draw does: a barrier holds no numbers in the weighting table.
The cadence
what the venue runs, and when it goes dark
- Day window
- dark, 02:00–17:00
- Overnight window
- every 3 min, 17:00–02:00 — 180 races
Both windows are printed whether or not the venue races in them: a track that runs one window says the other is dark, because a reader is entitled to know when nothing is on rather than to guess. A card every few minutes is what the real product does too — the same cadence for 49's Portman Park has been reported as three minutes, as three to five minutes and as nine minutes (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026), and where the sources disagree the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.
About the track
Coorong Park is the tightest gallops circuit on the books: 1700 m around, two turns of 500 m, and a 350 m home straight. Four distances are programmed — 1100, 1200, 1400 and 1600 m — and the 1100 m starts in the chute. Fields run 8 to 10, because ten is as many runners as the turn radius holds in the renderer without the outside of the field clipping the rail. The feature is the Coorong Nightcap over 1400 m.
It is a night venue and it races only at night: every three minutes from 17:00 to 02:00, which is 180 races, then dark until the following afternoon. The lighting is a render setting, not a condition. Sky Bet lists sunny, dull and night as display states on its own virtual tracks (rules page, read 18 October 2026), and night at Coorong Park has exactly that status — a grade applied to the frame.
Fields finish bunched here and the margins on a Coorong card are short. That is the renderer fitting a settled order into 350 m of straight. The draw ran at the settle time printed on every card, and the margin column describes the picture rather than the runners. The card publishes both, in that order, so the two are never confused.
What the proportions were modelled on
as far as the resemblance goes
A tight 1700 m lap with a 350 m straight under lights is the shape of an Australian provincial night meeting; the tightness is a number in the geometry file rather than a quirk of ground that was never levelled.
Shortest straight on the gallops and the tightest turns on the circuit, so the margins run short — they come from the renderer, not from the weighting table.

Stockyard Gate holds 317 of the 1,000 numbers in the Coorong Nightcap, over 1400 metres and the tightest turns on the circuit.
Group status is conferred by a principal racing authority and this circuit has none, so the top grade here is Feature and the page says so rather than borrowing a grade it cannot award. How a virtual race is decided.
