Brolga Park is a simulated venue. So is every venue in virtual racing. What is published here is the geometry, which is the part the industry keeps to itself.

The rail: Inside lure rail, fixed. Nothing on this circuit is watered, rolled or rained on, so there is no track rating and a form line from here carries none. The geometry changes what the screen shows, not what the draw does: a barrier holds no numbers in the weighting table.
The cadence
what the venue runs, and when it goes dark
- Day window
- dark, 00:30–17:00
- Overnight window
- every 3 min, 17:00–00:30 — 150 races
Both windows are printed whether or not the venue races in them: a track that runs one window says the other is dark, because a reader is entitled to know when nothing is on rather than to guess. A card every few minutes is what the real product does too — the same cadence for 49's Portman Park has been reported as three minutes, as three to five minutes and as nine minutes (archived horseracingbuzz.net results index and portmanparkresults.com, read 18 October 2026), and where the sources disagree the disagreement is recorded rather than resolved.
About the track
Brolga Park is the circuit's greyhound track: 450 m around on loam, left-handed, with a 130 m home straight and a lure rail on the inside. Three distances are programmed — 400, 520 and 600 m — measured from the front of the boxes to the finish line, which is how Greyhound Racing Victoria measures a race distance (GRV glossary, read 18 October 2026). The 400 m is a lap less 50 m; the 600 m is a lap and 150 m. The feature is the Brolga Dash over 520 m.
The box bank is eight wide and the numbers carry the Australian rug colours: 1 red, 2 black and white stripes, 3 white, 4 blue, 5 yellow, 6 green, 7 black, 8 pink, under rule 85 of the Greyhounds Australasia Rules effective 1 May 2022 (read 18 October 2026). The registered greyhound string on this circuit is four, so Brolga Park fields are currently four-dog events drawn into four of the eight boxes. That is a fact about the register and not a scratching: nothing is ever scratched on this circuit, and the field published on a card is the field that runs.
Form-sheet shorthand calls a greyhound that takes the inside line a railer and one that works the outside a wide runner; GRV's own glossary defines the behaviours as railing and running wide (read 18 October 2026), and early speed is read off split times rather than named as a figure. All three descriptions appear on a Brolga card, and none of them is a cause: the engine prints sectionals to fit a finishing order the draw has already settled. The method is published with every race, and the box a greyhound leaves from holds no numbers in the weighting table.
What the proportions were modelled on
as far as the resemblance goes
Greyhound Racing Victoria's track listings give Warragul 400, 460 and 680 m (GRV grading guidelines, December 2025, read 18 October 2026); Brolga's 400, 520 and 600 m sit inside that band on a lap of comparable length, which is a resemblance in distances rather than in ground.
Eight boxes, four registered greyhounds: Brolga Park fields are four-dog events, and the box numbers follow the Greyhounds Australasia rug colours.
